I currently offer both online and in person counselling  I with clients in Colchester, Essex, London, across the UK and overseas.

I work from a central location in Colchester which is also easily accessible to Witham, Chelmsford, Braintree, Ipswich, Frinton and local villages.

About Me
I have a Masters in Relationship Therapy (learn more) and am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

Originally trained by Relate, I am still passionate about the counselling work we do to help couples and families have the kind of relationships they long for.

For many years, I have supported and worked with charity and voluntary organisations and I am always humbled by the courage and resilience shown by the individuals I meet, despite the difficulties they face.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in public relations, marketing and the charity sector, helping individuals and businesses to communicate. Interestingly, it was always the simplest solutions that were the most effective  - and usually they sprang from careful listening and creating a message that was truly heartfelt.

I have taught Psychology at A Level and Learning Development Programmes to young people and adults in FE. I have also delivered Parents Separating programmes for Relate.

Developing programmes for more productive learning  - and living -continues to be an interest. The Relationship Coaching sessions are part of a semi-structured counselling programme for anyone wishing to start a relationship.

My Practice

I offer therapy from Monday to Thursday and see clients both face to face and online.  My practice is based in Colchester, in Essex although my clients live across the UK and Europe.

Online counselling is accessible via Zoom, Teams, Skype, WhatsApp and FaceTime. I am familiar with most online services and happy to use the platform of your choice.

I have been offering online counselling for ten years and many of my clients find it very effective. Both Teams and Zoom are secure and offer you the confidentiality you would expect in a face to face environment.

My Approach

Working in an integrative way means I can draw on different therapeutic approaches that suit your needs and personal preferences.

We might focus on your childhood and how that has influenced your life decisions or  instead reflect on what is affecting your life right now. It could be that incorporating mindfulness techniques or cognitive-behavioural strategies would be useful for you. We might also use psychoeducation or neuroscience to inform our sessions.

However we choose to proceed in our therapy,  we will work collaboratively and make therapeutic decisions together.

And if you'd like to know more about my therapeutic approach or  understand more about my training, I've created a special page here. It's important you feel safe and comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with.
